RALEIGH, N.C., January 29, 2021—Today, noted entrepreneur Brian Hamilton made a significant investment in Frozen Mountain. Hamilton is the founder of Sageworks, the United States’ first fintech company, which he sold to Accel-KKR in 2018. This deal represents the largest known investment in a Canadian video conferencing or broadcasting company since the start of COVID. The amount of the Frozen Mountain transaction was not disclosed.
Frozen Mountain provides real-time communication tools and services that allow clients to add live video conferencing, streaming, interactive broadcasting and more to their applications. The company’s customers are worldwide and include Match.com, UPS, WWE, Bosch and Philips. Frozen Mountain was founded in 2008 by software engineers Jerod and Anton Venema, who lead the company today as chief executive officer and chief technology officer, respectively.
