Troy Lawson

Director of Community Relations

Troy serves as the Director of Community Relations, responsible for outreach and partnerships within the Piedmont/Triad area.


Troy spent much of his early career in higher education. He was instrumental in helping young people and adults to achieve their goals of gaining access to higher education. During this stage of Troy’s career, he worked closely with local, statewide, and regional community groups to help open the doors to higher education. He also has served as a member of several chambers of commerce and as a volunteer for children and senior citizens.

Troy received a Bachelor of Arts in Communications from Boston College. He also earned his Master of Business Administration in Marketing from Strayer University in Greensboro, NC.

As Director of Community Relations for the Piedmont/Triad area, Troy helps strategically plan local and regional aspects of the Foundation’s mission in order to promote entrepreneurship for all. Troy and his wife have two grown daughters and two dogs. Originally from Massachusetts, Troy and his wife have called North Carolina home for four years.
