Dr. Katherine Loflin has globally-recognized expertise and experience in individual and community well-being, social innovation, social science research, and strategic philanthropy. She has worked with many state, national and international leaders on various topics affecting their cities as well as in the philanthropy sector, guiding the investment of millions annually into US cities. Her award-winning work has been featured widely in the press, speaking engagements, TEDx talks, publications, and has been the basis of many city improvement initiatives around the world.
Katherine is a North Carolina native and received her Mastersand Ph.D. in Social Work with specialties in family practice, community practice, and journalism from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. As Director of Special Initiatives, she works in cultivating partnerships, overall strategy, and special opportunities for the foundation and its programs.
